Whale*Mart

A report on Wal-Mart’s link to Japan’s hunting of whales, dolphins and porpoises.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc is the world’s largest retailer and in 2002 it purchased a 37 per cent stake in Seiyu Company of Japan, a major distributor of cetacean products to more than 100 of its supermarket stores in Japan.

This report calls on the Board of Directors of Wal-Mart to urge Seiyu to cease selling all whale, dolphin and porpoise products.
